Instructions CHARGE-PAK™  Charging Unit & 2 QUIK-PAK™ Electrodes Model 11403-000001

CHARGE-PAK Charging Unit & 2 QUIK-PAK Electrodes. Includes 2 sets of electrodes and 1 battery charger, replacement instructions, and discharger for safe disposal of used CHARGE-PAK battery charger.
Explanation
Both the QUIK-PAK™ electrode packet and the CHARGE-PAK battery charger should be replaced at the same time after each use of the defibrillator or when the readiness display shows the CRPlus_replaceCP-symbolsymbol. After replacing the battery charger, use the discharger to completely deplete it before disposal or recycling.

Steps to Resolve
1. Press the release latch forward to remove the used battery charger. The battery charger springs outward from the defibrillator.

3. Confirm the CRPlus_replaceCP-OK-2 symbol appears in the readiness display (instead of displaying the battery icon).

4. The time it takes to “top-off” the internal HLC battery depends on the number of shocks provided, length of ON time, and the ambient temperature.

When a new CHARGE-PAK is installed after a typical use, it will require approximately 3 days to “top-off” the HLC battery in normal room temperature of 20 degrees C (68 degrees F).

When a new CHARGE-PAK battery is installed if all or most of the device capacity is used, the [!] caution symbol will remain in the Readiness Display for up to three days at normal room temperature at 15 degrees C (59 degrees F) or above to allow the CHARGE-PAK battery to partially charge the HLC battery. Once the [!] caution symbol turns off and the [OK] symbol is displayed, the device will have a minimum capacity of six shocks or 42 minutes of ON time. The CHARGE-PAK battery will continue to trickle charge the internal HLC battery to full capacity. This could take up to two weeks at normal room temperature, or longer at lower temperatures.

CAUTION: Keep the defibrillator at temperatures between 0° – 50°C (32° – 122°F) while the new battery charger charges the internal battery. The internal battery may not charge effectively at lower temperatures. Temperatures exceeding 50° C (122°F) for longer than seven days can permanently damage the internal battery.

IMPORTANT: In an emergency situation, attempt to use the defibrillator even if the [!] caution symbol is displayed.

5. To prepare for recycling or disposal, insert the discharger into the used battery charger. Do not try to remove the discharger after inserting it.

6. Wait at least 9 days to let the discharger completely deplete the battery charger.

7. Discard the used battery charger according to local regulations for recycling.
